In most places where Grenache is grown it is often blended with Carignan, Shiraz or Mataro. Grenache displays aromas of strawberry, black cherry, anise and citrus rind. The palate often offers plush fruits, soft spices and smooth tannins. The most famous region for Grenache is Chateauneuf-du-Pape in Southern Rhone, France.
