Did the variety begin in Bordeaux or the Loire Valley? Let’s not debate the history. Why is it adored so much? It’s got a great range, from the clean tropical crisp style from Marlborough to the richer Fume style aged and\or fermented in oak with texture and added complexity. Sancerre and Pouilly Fume sit on opposite side of the Loire River, both with minerality and persistence.
