A great example of Heathcote Shiraz with grapes sourced across 2 different vineyard sites on either side of Mount Camel with the different aspects for differing ripening and flavours. 1 vineyard was dry grown giving some plumpness to the tannin structure. Fermentation was spontaneous with wild yeast adding to terroir expression. Charlie choose to have a shorter time on skins for 2020 to maintain freshness before pressing off into older French barrels (tiny portion new) for malolactic fermentation.
The wine is vibrant with hints of violet, blue plum and deeper black fruit.
