Region: Doa, Portugal
Variety: Bical, Encruzado, and Sercial
What's in the glass: We've unlocked a new luncheon wine character here. This is a classy little table white from the entire Villae of Taboadella, where some of the oldest vines actually make it into this cuvee - most up to 100 years old! This is a near even split of Bical, Encruzado and Cercial, fermented in a mix of stainless steel and concrete for a wine focused on texture and freshness. Lovely white peach, gold apple, steely minerality and some nice zesty, citric acidity. Definitely desperate for some kind of fresh sea food or something slathered in pesto or salsa verde. A white wine designed for sunshine if there ever was one.
