Region: Mornington Peninsula
Variety: Pinot Noir
What's in the glass: The Back Beach Pinot Noir is sourced from grower vineyards around the Mornington Peninsula. Aged in mainly older oak barrels, with approximately 5% new oak, along with 10% whole bunch fermentation.
With impressive colour intensity, the 2023 Back Beach Pinot Noir has a vibrant, lifted nose with an array of spices present; a feature of the high quality, cooler growing season. The palate is medium bodied and elegant, featuring raspberries, crushed red berries and redcurrant, along with earthy spices and tannins, consistent with whole bunch fermentation. Though it drinks well young, the wine will continue to improve over the next 5 years.
