Selvapiana is the preeminent producer within the Chianti Rufina DOCG zone. The 6th generation, organically farmed estate has belonged to the Giuntini family since 1826. Today, it is owned and run by Federico Giuntini and his son Niccolo Giuntini. Since the 2018 vintage, Niccolo has taken control of the winemaking under the guidance of Franco Bernabei, a well respected Tuscan oenologists who has been working at the estate since 1978. The property consists of 58 hectares of vines, 36 hectares of olive trees, and 140 hectares on woodland located in the Rufina DOCG.
