Region: Adelaide Hills
Variety: Gamay
What's in the glass: In the mid-1980s Sam Vigara planted three clones of gamay in the Adelaide Hills however due to unpopularity they were grafted over with chardonnay after only a few yeas. In 2013, convinced by Taras that gamay was “back”, Sam agreed to restore the plantings. The first crop came off in 2019, which was then followed sadly by the catastrophic bushfires in 2020. Since 2022 this low yielding vineyard has led to the beautiful wine we have enjoyed since. The 2025 is a classic example of Price of Silence — medicinal fragrance with savoury spice and a mineral lithe palate.
