What's in the glass: From a small, limestone-rich parcel on the Beaune coteau, Les Monsnières is a truly elegant expression of Chardonnay. Fermented and aged in used barrels, the wine has depth without weight, showing precise citrus, white stone fruit, and a chalky mineral line reflective of the intensely stony plot it comes from. The additional time in steel tank before bottling helps to tighten the stucture of the wine without rounding off its edge. Only 900 bottles made—a delicate, quietly detailed wine with a clear sense of place.
