What's in the glass: A beautifully classical expression of Serralunga, with dark cherry, wild strawberry and blood orange layered with rose, dried herbs, anise and earthy spice. The palate has impressive depth and energy, with bright acidity running through the fruit and the firm, finely etched tannins that define great Serralunga Nebbiolo. Savoury, mineral and persistent, finishing with orange peel, thyme and a touch of leather. Powerful enough for the cellar, but there's already a lovely purity and perfume here. A superb introduction to serious Barolo.
