The 2021 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a more complex and engaging bouquet compared to the Bienvenues, with scents of citrus peel, lime and orange pith, a little more mineralite although it seems less intense than the Les Pucelles. The palate is very well balanced with flecks of white chocolate on the entry; the taut acidity keeps the tension dialed up throughout. There are lovely spicy notes, stem ginger and lemongrass on the finish that shows quite a bit of extract that lends complexity and length. Excellent. 95 PTS, NEAL MARTIN, VINOUS
