What's in the glass: Wine Front 94 points - Gary Walsh Planted 2003. Gets 20-25% whole bunch. Walsh Block is an ideal name for a wine. Quite some vivid purple colour here! Lots of pepper, cardamom and assorted exotic spice, red capsicum, blackcurrant, blood plum, liquorice, an oven roasted beetroot earthiness. It’s medium-bodied, savoury, all grilled meat rolled in dried herbs, a few black olives in the mix. It’s quite sappy and tangy, cranberry crunch, tannin has a grainy and dusty grip, and the finish is savoury and saline as all get out, with good length. There’s also this amaro bitterness to close, which I like very much. It’s a specific wine. Hopefully you’ll know if it’s your cup of tea from the description offered.
