Region: Mornington Peninsula
Variety: Pinot Noir
What's in the glass: "One thing appealing with the pinots from Bill Downie is that they are immediately drinkable and deliciously so. Another difficult vintage on the Peninsula but this has a balance of aromas, flavours and texture. Dark red cherries, blood orange and zest with sumac and brown spices plus fresh herbs and a pinch of Italian bitter herbs, too. It’s a savoury wine. Tannins and acidity work in tandem to add definition across the mid-weighted palate." - 95 points Jane Faulkner (Halliday Wine Companion)
