With a prime position in the heart of the Butteaux vineyards, this over 60-year-old parcel, whose yields are slowly diminishing, deserves its separate vinification and maturation and delivers wonderful wines worthy of a Grand Cru vineyard. Kimmeridgian. Left bank. This parcel at the top of the hill is made up of silty, clay soil on the surface. It is moderately deep and very chalky. Moderately steep slope. Very wellventilated climate. South-south-east exposure.- Guillaume Gicqueau- Michel
“This plot is lower down and had less snow, so not so badly hit as the regular Butteaux. A light lemon colour with a green tint. The bouquet is more perfumed than the straight Butteaux bottling. The wine though has retained its Chablisian character throughout with a fresher rather than softer finish, and impeccable length. An elegant rendition of this key wine at the domaine. Drink from 2025-2030.” 91-93 Points. Jasper Morris MW
