What's in the glass: The blend is predominantly Sangiovese (usually around 70 percent), supported by Ciliegiolo and Montepulciano, which add juiciness and soft spice. Fermentation is in stainless steel with native yeasts, and the wine is aged in large neutral oak and cement tanks for about 10 months, ensuring purity of fruit and a supple texture. The nose is vibrant and expressive, with aromas of red cherry, plum, sweet herbs, and a touch of violet and pepper. On the palate, it’s medium bodied and juicy, showing bright red fruit, a dusting of earthy spice, soft tannins and refreshing acidity. It’s the kind of wine that feels both rustic and polished — the sort of everyday Tuscan red that delivers honest pleasure without pretence.
